“BUT IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!”

Monica | My Life | Saturday, 30 August 2008

WOW! So the bday celebration was intense. I think there were about 16 of us total, covering every corner of the bar — leaving a trail of mischief and wonder in the eyes of all who witnessed us.

I was in total control, of course, up until the point that I lost all ability to function my own two feet.

“But it was my birthday!!!!”

So I pretty much got away with whatever I wanted. Beyond that, the girls I was with were SMOKING hott. It was unreal. I have forgotten how awesome we are when we pile on the self tanner, squeeze into the tightest, tiniest mini’s and flash our … teeth …. ;o) for recognition.

As for myself, I was in all white. Something I thought for sure would be the ultimate ‘taboo,’ but surprisingly was still white this morning. Go me!

I may have laughed, I may have cried, I may have danced, twirled, jumped. I may have drank, I may have ate. I may have mistook the step I took ….But I did not stain the dress!!!!!

I am a ROCKSTAR! (….not really)

To help with my recovery this morning, a friend of mine picked me up and took me for my very first motorcycle ride down the coast this morning. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!!!

THE BIRTHDAY PICS ARE STILL BEING PROCESSED….STAY TUNED!!!!!

It’s not that I can dance — it’s that ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!

…you smell like a monkey and you look like one too!

Monica | My Life | Wednesday, 27 August 2008

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME ON FRIDAY!

For the attention starved, (like me), birthdays are THE desired, THE coveted, THE only day reserved for bragging, “fishing” and crying if we want to.

So I’m stoked. Not so much about my age (26) — and there I go “fishing — But rather for the girls night that follows! HELL-UH-OH! gonna be fun. I hope so anyway. It’s been a while and I need it.

HOWEVER, I did go out (randomly) last night and I (without sounding like I’m tooting my own horn) was totally a hot commodity. I love it when the bartenders themselves give you free drinks. Thats when you KNOW the MOJO (or as we were calling it last night, the MO-LO — Monica Love–) is fired up.

Ran into an old friend whose…wife wasn’t very happy to see me. OOPS! Kinda sad that marriage means you loose all your past, friends included. But oh well! That’s their deal. For now, only looking forward to Friday night (and the Saturday morning recovery –owe!). Fill ya in.
Dont worry — FLIP will be in stow. Lets just hope it makes it home (ME TOO!!)

…what have I become?

Monica | My Life | Saturday, 23 August 2008

There use to be a time in my life that Saturday nights at home were as frequent as sunlight at midnight. It just never happened.

More and more, I find myself at home — on the web — writing pointless blogs, editing ridiculous videos or twiddling my thumbs hoping that the next text message I get will be THAT one from THE one. It never is.

Beyond not having the money to go out anymore (Cali is THAT expensive), I am truly liking being here. I’m more rested each day which lead to the BEST workouts EVER (even on Sunday morning, which not long ago use to NEVER happen).

Anyway, in order to feel social again — I did something so UNLIKE me!!!

I’m a member on….
I’ve signed up for….
I’m a subscriber to…

Match.com

OMG! yes, yes, I know! I can’t believe it either.
I did that.
I went there.
I PAID for it!!

Oh by God, help me for I am losing my MOJO and have succumb to online dating. HELLO! Shoot me now.
…anyway, I’ll let you know how it goes. IF I decide to EVER meet anyone of these cyber daters, Imma for sure write about ‘em.

If you want, you should sign up and “wink” at me. That I’ve learned, is free. ;o)

Everything I do…I do in my car!

Monica | My Life | Saturday, 23 August 2008

YAY! For the 2004 Honda Civic — with new tires and one missing hubcap. Ya. I’m pretty broke.

But anyway, ‘member how I mentioned the “Price is Right” search for a new spokesmodel person thing? Well I went to the audition. It was fun! I’ve been to soooooooooooooooo many auditions and none have ever treated us so nicely. Seriously

These past two auditions I have gone on, have been exceptional. So this one for the P is R was at CBS in Studio City. They totally shuttled us from the parking structure to the stage, then at the stage (keep in mind this is JUST THE AUDITION) had stylists there to DO OUR HAIR!!! (random) and then after the audition sent us home with a parting gift. It was random. I’ve never seen such hospitality during an audition.

The one b4 that one, was for the informercial, right? And that one was a call back. Now, again, usually at auditions and call backs there are NO FRILLS. It’s a rat race. Everyone after the ONE coveted spot, casting directors aren’t exactly eager to extend a hospitable hand. But totally different at this one too! At the call back — they had full makeup there. Random! I bumped into another of the ‘call backs’ and she felt the same way. I overheard her excitedly saying “OH SO I BOOKED THIS?!?” thinking what I thought, WHAT THE HELL IS MAKEUP DOING HERE ON A CALL BACK?!?

So kudos to those two castings. Seriously.

Anyway, heres a vid from my drive from the OC (woop, woop!) to LA for the P is R thing. Sorry didn’t get any actual audition footage. I suck.

Fondue, it’s true, with the Ortho crew!

You’ve all heard about my “new” job, right? The whole “working-with-a-friend” dilemma I had few posts ago….

HELLO! How freakin’ lucky is he? Seriously….

Martina McBride in concert (but more imporantly, Alyssa’s first ‘liveshot’)

Monica | My Life | Thursday, 21 August 2008

Alyssa and I went to our first country concert last weekend. So the video isn’t all that exciting, but I’m sucha proud Mama (and Alyssa is so cute in this video) that I have to post it.

I’m so dumb though — the batteries ran out just as the main show (Marting McBride) got started. Story of my life.

I LOVE it when…

Monica | My Life | Wednesday, 20 August 2008

There is this radio station here in the OC — broadcast out of LA — that does “I hate it when Wednesdays….”

Instead of such random negativity — so much of that in this world — I’m opting to be cheesy and do my version of “I love it whens….”

I love it when I go to bed early, wake up early and finally have enough time in the morning!

I love it when Alyssa behaves, gets to school on time and is super sweet in the a.m.!

I love it when I have enough time for a good breakfast before work!

I love it when I’m excited to be at work, happy to see the people I work with and finally sorta acclimated to my job position!

I love it when I get into an argument with a friend, who later makes it all better by just being sweet!

I love it when I am able to say the right thing at the right time to the right person!

I love it when I get complimented on anything that is me….!

I love it when I get a good workout after work surrounded by healthy, motivated peeps!

I love it when I have time to write random blogs like this one (cause time to write is so sparce now)!

I love it when I have an overall kinda crappy day — but I’m able to look at the positive by doing ridiculous like this!

If you haven’t figured out — I’ve sorta outlined my day as it was today. It wasn’t the best day in the world. There was drama at work. I had a headache in the morning. I got in early, got off late and didn’t have anything good for dinner….BUT! whatever manana is another day, and should hopefully be a good one.

I have my call back for the infomercial tomorrow afternoon, ANNNND I’ve decided to go to the Price is Right open call on Friday. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Dinner date tomorrow evening? ha! I wish. I will however be doing dinner at The Melting Pot with my new office — should be interesting. Ta-ta for now.

Quickie update

Monica | My Life | Tuesday, 19 August 2008

Sooooooo — congrats to me! Remember the aforementioned (<—big word) ;o) infomercial I auditioned for recently?

Well I got the “call back,” this afternoon. Yay!

First off, not only was the casting director a total hottie, but the advertisiting agency that is filming this thing is

1. paying (yipee — you will not imagine the work that goes unpaid)

2. Like 2 miles from my house!

I’m stoked.

Presidential Candidates visit the OC!

Monica | My Life | Sunday, 17 August 2008

OH KAY. Dunno if any of you watched the forum Saturday evening featuring Senator Obama and Senator McCain (”on the same stage”) moderated by Pastor Rick Warren on CNN. But that event took place at Saddleback Church — the church I attend.

Anyway, the church is literally right down the street from where I live. We sooo wanted tickets to this thing (we, meaning Alyssa and I. Though I doubt she would’ve cared two seconds about what was being said), it’s just the tickets were too dang expensive — so we opted for $6 tickets to a country concert that night instead (ya..ya. Lil’ Wayne one day, Martina McBride the next. RANDOM!)

However, on our way to the YEEHAW concert, we had to pass the church and OH EMM GEE — there were people everywhere!!

Ok, realize that when I say EVERYWHERE, I mean like at least 3 people I’ve never seen before (yes, the suburb I live in IS that small). So for us, it was exciting.

Anyway. Here’s the vid. No cameo’s by either senator — but lots of their supporters!
