At the car wash! Just a break from the INSANITY that is my life. Gotta run. Another paper. Another deadline. Hope you are all well.

Between work, looking for work, school, Alyssa, her school, her homework, my homework, the gym, cooking, cleaning, spending time with my daughter and occasionally sleeping — I have no time to write.

I pretty much wanna give up right now — give up school — but I’m not. I have 3 more classes, only 3 more, and I finally graduate. I feel like I just can’t do it.

So in essence of all this, I’m not gonna really blog as much anymore. It’s been fun, but I have no time. I mean, I’ll blog here and there…but I can’t keep it as lively and fun as it use to be. I just have to prioritize (and the reality of missing TWO deadlines on assignments recently helped me come to this conclusion). Besides, I’m now doing homework for 2. Soooooooo one is kindergarten homework… You try tracing the letter “B” in 6,7,8 different colors while recieting a poem, jumping up and down and following the arrow. IT’S HARD!

Needless to say, I gotta run. I have two papers, three chapters and a life to get to.

…help? Anyone?

Season two for my lil’ allstar.

After soccer last season and international soccer camp over the summer — this “silver star” shines on the field. Confidence, ability and the concept of teamwork is finally showing signs of improvement. Yay!

THE PALIN PHENOMENON

I was noticing how much her nomination and “scripted” show dog (with lipstick) performances and the “love” being show in the press so much resembles an American Idol black horse (with a past) rather than a candidate for Vice President, and coverage of her is more like the coverage done by TMZ or ET than real hard news. 

The enamorment of the “star struck” media seems to show the true dumbing down of the press to the level of an entertainment show rather than covering the fact that she might actually have no experience at all in anything she is being asked about but has been queue card schooled on what to say rather than having a real opinion of what to do in a situation.  She is answering every question with pat answers and interrupts the questioner before they finish the questions like a bad soap opera actress hoping stepping on their lines on their big break of speaking one line. (of course knowing what the questions and answers are before they are asked really is helping her)

The dog show slanted mentality of the press is attempting to force down the throats of Joe public that they SHOULD and DO already love her and that the election is already over so don’t try to vote against our “American Idol”.  God forbid that you vote against “the chosen one”. Oh by the way, sorry but I forgot to mention , if you vote for her, John McCain will be the president too.

This could be a problem.

There’s me — looking for a job.
There’s this class I’m in — Electronic Communication
Then there’s this issue — finding a job.

Ok all this combined scares me. So in my class we are talking about how employers (and this is no surprise to me, it just brought it to the surface) “google” their potential new hires. Hmmmm…if you google me the FIRST link is to this blog.
Hmmmm….
The rest are links all over the place. My appearance on this game show last year. My linkedin. Stuff from TAC (like the first audition video that I DESPISE!!! grrrrrr…). All that is ok. It’s this blog that has me concerned.

So here’s my plea to all employers!!

I really am a good hire. I’m just…me. I love being me! I also LOVE my little daughter and LOVE showing her off. I hope with this site simply to illustrate the beauty (and craziness) of single parenting. If you read through all my posts you will see I never use “bad words,” I try to emphasize some sort of creative streak each time and I honestly, just like the site. This doesn’t make me any less of a good hire. I totally want, hope for and NEED your job.

Besides, this blog started from a job I had. YAY! Top Affiliate Challenge — WHICH speaking of, I got accepted into my first “affiliate program!” Match.com!!! I just need to figure out how to place their banner on my site. This also could be another problem in the making. Hmmph!

Anyway, thats beside the point. The point here is — I’m slightly feeling the urge to go back into the shell I came from. Maybe I should stop writing? …how sad. :o(

Well before I do that — I have good news!! I landed a small part in a commercial today!! Finally. It’s paid so that makes it even super better, and we know, I could use it. The director of this shoot IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON EVER! Had it not been for him, I wouldn’t have succeeded.

It’s how single parents entertain themselves…and the kids. Works well!

I like to call this — Motor Vehi-call-my-number-already-cause-I-am-going-looney- Mayhem.

 MEET MONICA. A single Mom with much better things to do than grow old at the DMV.

Things like look for a job, buy a hubcap… oh you know, save the world — things like that.

But instead, she waits.

And waits….

And starts to finally get in there when…..

BINGO! G174 is called and her dignity is redeemed. One more single Mom driving legally again — the streets are safer. Her nose, more clear.

All thanks to a 2 hour wait at the Dept of Motor Vehicles. Gotta love it.
